I for one get caught up in the surf sup movement and forget the pleasure of flat water. Had a ball on the weekend great friends lots of boards and flat water.

Big thank you to Courts from http://www.supsurfaustralia.com/SUP_Stand_Up_Paddle_Boards/Home.html (who not only is one of the best sup surfers I have seen is also one of the nicest blokes you could meet) helped out with some gear to make the day a real treat for the kids.
Look him up if you are interested in JL boards, C4 or Kialoa paddles.

Enjoy. Check the smile on my sons dial.

Love the shot and comments as it mirrors our family life. My children have been into surfing for about 6 months (aged 3 and 5) and are addicted. This makes my life great as I have problems going for a surf when I want. It has become a whole family affair. My wife used to sit on the beach when i went for a surf but know the kids are surfing she has started to learn. She then tried one of my SUPs and has since claimed it and has even got a paddle getting made from Woogie. My 20 month old is obsessed with the paddle and it is near impossible to get it off him. He would take it to his cot if he was allowed.

The best part of having the whole family involved is it makes it easy to negotiate the purchasing of new craft. Just who get to use it!

Here are some shot of the girls... I have put them up before but they mqke me proud...

Too cool... I wish my girls were little again. My "baby" is getting her masters degree...

Still getting them into standup. My oldest daughter is especially hooked. The best thing about having a bunch of boards now is that we can all get out together this summer. Last summer we only had two...now we have five.

These pics are from last August. My oldest daughter and I. This was her second time on a board...she was a bit freaked by the size of the waves but had fun once we were out beyond the break. we got to watch some seals playing nearby and I helped her time her return to shore with a catch of her 1st wave...a small one that she rode right into the beach...I mean right into the beach...buried the nose in the sand....

She too had such a big smile....it was all she could talk about for weeks.
