So by the sound of things this board rips!If you want to loosen it up in small surf, place the fin towards the nose in the fin box,for larger swell reverse the fin placement, this will let the fin hold the board in and the power of the wave will let you drive your turns out!It also depends on your back foot placement, you need to place your rear foot over the rear fin otherwise you are surfing from mid board and that will tighten any board up!

lol jacko!

Tea tree - I generally start in the middle of the box and move it around for the different conditons.

Fin selection and fin placement makes a HUGE difference the the performance of the board!

Get out there, play around and enjoy, TEEATREE!!

Had my first paddle this morning and although it was 1 ft messy chop i can tell this board is for me , its super stable and is also a good paddler for someone my height and weight.Bring on some swell and i think it will be awesome.

My only gripe AA is the pinkinsh colour , but i guess it will help me get in touch with my feminine side!

Cheers

Im huge mate , only joking - i hover around 90KG and im 189cm tall.
If your thinking of a similar board and your a bigger bloke i think it would be hard to go past , in my opinion anyway. And dont take that to seriousley because im pretty much a Newbie. But compared to my 11.6 which would float just about anything my new board is very stable and the rails at the tail and nose are super thin and tapered for easy turning. It is very light also. The reason i didnt go shorter again is most of time the surf is pretty ordinary and windy and i found even on my old Kalama i could still have some fun on those days , but with the shorter perfromance sups i reckon they would stuggle big time in these sorts of conditions.
so o.k if you can afford a quiver but i was looking for 1 board suits all.

Cheers TeaTree! I am bigger than that, but will be around 90 soon. I contacted the guys at PSH and AA and they have recommended the 10'6.

I've paddled a 11'4 Naish the last couple of days in flat water and it certainly seems as though it would be loose(ish) in the surf as compared to other big boards. However, I have a 12'6 starboard that I use for flat water and dont want to get another board that is too close to the one I already have.

I am NEVER going to surf too big nor make heaps of cutbacks on a wave, but would like something I can surf up to head high and also catch really small waves. Yes, it is a tall order, but I want to make sure my next board is something that continues the stoke!

I think there is a 10'6 for demo here in Melbourne, so I'll borrow it over the next week or so and see how it goes.

Let us know how your board goes once you get that long awaited swell!
