I believe that if you're going to fork out $1500-1900 on a sup, then it should come with quality fins. Sure, lots of surfers will always want to experiment, but I'm with Billboard: if you have a great fin(s) "go surfing and forget about the fin forever".
A couple of my sup acquaintances told me that the particular make of sup they had bought recently (for just under 2 grand!) came with "crap" fins, so they bought new ones

Fins are expensive. I ripped out the 13" dolphin fin on my first sup (JL 11'); often surf over shallow reefs, so replaced it with one 3 inches shorter. Better fin than the big ol' dolphin fin, definitely.
Hilly, sorry, can't comment on the fins for the 9'8", I'm sticking with the stock ones. Trying hard not to
have to replace 'em

. Besides, can't afford it
