With my plans for a sup board purchase thought I should at least try it (sort of ).Stole the idea from DJ ,got out the old windsurfer minus the centre board grabbed the home made paddle (design also stolen from DJ) and away I went. No swell to speak of but a sea breeze and some chop, looks easy don't believe it.Wobbled out to a small off shore reef ,wobbled around and wobbled back.Didn't fall off but came mighty close, total distance travelled about 300 metres.Repeated this several times each time not quite as unsteady.Packed up and came home, body is telling me it got a bit of a workout(old geezer )My opinion based on trying it with mismatched equipment etc Had fun, could be addictive ,got exercise, and definitely want to try again a few times then go for the specialised board. I am in total awe of those guys you see in pictures and movies in giant surf and small surf for that matter.

Good for you waxer.

I turned 50 last year..and I reckon it's the best way to keep fit.

I used my old windsurfer for a whole year before I upgraded..I wish now I'd done it sooner.

Let us know how you progress..and any questions..Just ask.
