Hey Guys,

The Father of a very good friend of mine was in a tragic surfing accident over the Easter Long weekend and remains in intensive care at Royal North Shore Hospital. His name is Pete Bilsborough and is a long time Palmy local. With so much strength and courage Pete has gone through numerous operations to get where he is today.

The details of what actually happened I am unsure of, but last time I hear there was a chance of him becoming a Quadriplegic.

As last year's fund raiser for Sam was such a boost to her family. I thought it would be cool to do a similar thing for the Bilsborough's.

So on the 6th of June, I would ask anyone in the Sydney area with a SUP to come down to Western side of Palmy (near boathouse cafe).

I have set up a facebook event thing, so if you on facebook let me know and I will invite you in.

There will be two parts to this morning.

1- More experienced paddlers will paddle from kiddies corner around to boathouse cafe leaving at 7.30am

2- Those wanting to try out SUP. Equipment will be available for use from 9.30am.

In the event of excess swell, suggestions would be welcome. Possible trip around Lion Island.

Depending on how many come down to try it out, donation of your board for use by the newbies would be appreciated.

This is a completely unofficial gathering to collect some money for a good bloke who has taken a bad turn.

Donation Details:
There is not set price but any donation for using the equipment will go towards the Bilsborough family. So we would be very grateful for any donation as you participate in paddle around the Joey and also in the learners paddle.

blast paddlers have come on board to fully support this event, so it should be a great morning out on the water.

there has not been a great deal of feedback about this one here, but it will be a great day, and a good opportunity to have a paddle with some mates too.
