They rang Jacko and from the sounds of it they were only looking for negative things to write about. They should have asked old love what she was doing going through the crowd on her ski did she have a leg rope on? Old mate should have made sure she was OK but the alley is the alley. Whats more dangerous a clubbie boat weighing 400kg or a SUP or a beginner longboarder? Just **** house journalism.

I wasnt there so I can't comment on this actual incident - however in the last ten years of surfing the alley on my longboard I have actually been hit by at least 3 clubby skis tumbling through the lineup and inside with nobody on board - and in every single instance not so much as a "sorry mate". Yes, this stuff happens at the alley every day and always has and always will but nothing is gained by people pointing fingers and singling out types of surfer or surfcraft and lets not even start with that toe-jam of a rag they call a newspaper.

I wonder if I called and showed the gash in my scalp from getting hit by a Mal at the Alley yesterday would they come out and do a story. Nah I wouldn't think so.
It happens, the Alley is a magnet for beginners and if you ride any craft out there with the crowds there is a very high chance you will get hit. Live with it or find somewhere else to surf.

I watched a clubbie boat clean up a bloke on a SUP on Saturday then a mate of mine riding a SUP got smacked in the head by a mal drawing some blood from his melon. I've been cleaned up out there heaps of times including having my board almost torn in half as a 13 year old by an out of control clubbie boat on a good 4-6 foot day. I think people need to be more aware of there ability and others around them rather than trying to blame evryone else

There was also a similar article in the Sunday Mail.
Not much originality, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast all running the same story but trying to localise it.
