Anyone recommend some good video editing software for Windows?

I have been using GoPro Studio and it drives me nuts, but it has the basic functionality I need.

I just tried Adobe Premiere. Goodness me - a zillion features if you can be bothered with the learning curve... For the little I tried, it seems to have a hard time with very long videos that need to be broken up into a number of smaller clips.

But I am off on a surf trip in a week and I need a better way to edit/process the videos I will record.

(I tried searching for previous posts - couldn't find any.)

I sympathise CSE. The editing process is so painful it stops me from bothering to even use my GoPro most of the time.

I would buy a mac, but I don't own a black turtleneck skivvy Everything else I have tried has been a bigger pain than GoPro Studio...

Another option is your trusty smart phone just use the gopro app to download throw it to video editor, trim you clip, save then delete the gopro file keep the smaller edited version share to youtube ect then delete. The samsung s6 does this really good.

Thanks. My current phone is not very smart... I turn it on and it asks me what day it is. Maybe it is time for an upgrade.

been using cyber link power director 13. Lots of tutorials on youtube for it....can use it for a month free trial

CSE can't help with windows based program but I use the Gopro soft wear to uncompress the footage then transfer to final cut on the Mac which is a great program to edit in. There are some great free tutorial vids on the use of FC and even a plastic keyboard cover that provides all the shortcut commands for $10 on eBay. Then compressor to shrink the file down for sharing. I prefer to use Vimeo to host especially if you have gone to all the effort to shoot in 1080

So, the best advice for video software editing for Windows is to go out and spend $2k+ on a Mac.
Seems Google is your friend with this one as others seem to be distracted by the bright, shiny fruit logo glowing from the back of their screen.
Windows movie maker is not too bad. Do a YouTube search for hits and tips.

I have put the time in with Premier and don't mind it now. Once again YouTube for hints.

Any Sony Movie Studio or (older) Sony Vegas. Easier learning curve to use then Adobe Premier but also powerful and a step above the rest.
