Still find my gopro3 gets fogged up when in the surf, despite putting the anti-fog inserts into it (happens even when the inserts are brand new and have 3 inside the camera). Any suggestions as to what works please?

Dry chamois pieces in all allowable spaces.

Absorbs better than the useless strips that are like throwing money down the drain.

I use the fridge trick and it works nicely: put the gopro in the housing, but leave the housing open. Put both in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. By this time all the humidity in the fridge has condensed (which means the air in the fridge and within your gopro housing has virtually no water vapour in it). When you are ready, open the fridge and quickly close up the gopro housing whilst it is still in the fridge (not outside the fridge - otherwise it'll be worse than ever).

This works because it unlikely that the surf is going to be colder than the fridge and therefore the dew point for any residual humidity in the gopro is unlikely to be reached. In effect, the air in the GoPro is drier that it naturally would be at room (or surf) temperature and you don't get fogging.

Obviously, it only works until you open the housing up - at which point, all the humid air from outside floods back in.

There will be heaps of condensation on the outside of the cold housing, but this is irrelevant and will go away as it warms up naturally (or gets in the surf).

If you're going to use dessicant inserts - seal them inside the housing for as long as possible (say overnight), so they have time to mop up the humidity in your housing. As soon as you open the housing back up, the inserts have to start all over again to mop up the humidity.

Thanks guys, great advice - will try it on the next session. Someone has also suggested putting something like rainex on the front glass to further improve picture quality. Anyone done this?
