I was just looking for an old post of mine about when we did our first Phillip Island crossing and realized that it's been about two years now.. I remember when I posted that I was doing it (the crossing) and rang all my friends and one by one they said that they couldn't make it because it was mid week.. But when I got there ready to paddle on the crack of dawn Oliver, John and Jonathan rolled up to join me.. I guess that's what sickies are for..

Looking at the pics it's amazing how far we've come in just two years with our boards and equipment.. Check out these old pics.. I'm sure most of the new guys would not have seen them.. I've done this paddle a few times now and next time we should have a big group and most on big DW boards that are more suited to this type of crossing.. but these pics show that they are not necessary to have fun and a great adventure.

I did see my old 10'6" Naish once and I remembers posting a post called 'Happy as a pig in mud'..

The guy who had it also had a 10'6" C4 and he and his GF loved both boards..

I didn't tell him it was my old board.. I just said that's a nice looking board.. and pointed to the Naish..
