A couple of pics of my latest board, 7'11 x 27.6 x 4,
sorta tried to copy the Laguna Bay shape, don't think it's that close though. I've got one on order, thought I would try and make one similar dimensions to ride til it got here.
Hey Dale, I weigh in at about 79 - 80kg, I know where your coming from, too small you reckon? It's looking good for a paddle tommorrow mornin so I guess I'll find out, I'm fairly confident it will be ok in good conditions, just take a bit of getting used to less width, I'm hoping the trade off will be better performance.
Hi Cam No I am not saying it is too small. Just wondered if you were a lightweight. Knowing your weight gives us all an idea of what is possible with a board of that dimensions. Also comes down to the riders fitness and skill level. I reckon it is great that people are pushing the boundaries. Hope you get some good waves and the board works a treat

Hi Cam Why GREENGreat to catch up with you and Mac at Beachport
hey cam board looks sweet! Will be great on the waves will surf like a shortboard, who cares if it paddles a bit slower still faster than a mal or shortboard , hey where did you buy the handle insert from?
I had a paddle this morning in 3ftish, little bit of side shore chop. I was surprised how easy it was to paddle around on at only 27.6" wide. I probably fell off a dozen times waiting for waves in 3 hrs surfing. Hard to say whether it's width/weight or board in general but felt faster on the wave being narrower, only weighs in at 6.4kg, I didn't think I would notice the weight difference given my other boards at similar size are approx 8.5-9kg, but did feel more lively and easier to control on the wave, might not be solely a weight thing as probably few other variables.
Dan - bought handle inserts from Shapers Australia, only about $8 each TAA - painted it green cos it rhymes with machine, nah no reason
