This is what 40-50 knot gusts look like on a down-winder.. Crank up the sound and hang on to your seat.

September 5 2012 will be remembered as one of the best.. even if I did almost end up on the rocks..

Cool - makes me want to get out there and do it all over again David. That's the problem with addictions, hey? They don't go away.

It's still howling out there - 42 knots NW at Faulkner Beacon as I write this.

Looked rad!

Especially the lack of paddling!

Pretty dodgy dismount at 3.05...when I feel it going, I make sure I jump off to avoid the dreaded knee-monia.....can't wait for summer.....

good stuff DJ. Its good to see the fantastic rides and the paddling on the knees at the end.

I did my first 20+ knot DW last Thursday and ended up on my knees to avoid the rocks as well, so appreciate seeing all of the video.

Keep up the fantastic videos :-)

Yeah that was one awesome session!!
A few of us did it a little earlier and did St Kilda - Ricketts (16km).
Camo said he managed a 1km split in under 4.30mins....crazy fast!!
Water out off HMB was really gnarly with backwash off the Cerb, etc.
I'm still amped.
YEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

Wowee !! how cool was that? I cant believe how little paddling was necessary, and the speed you where getting.DJ your vid's are just fantastic, I know so many guys must be inspired to give it a go just from watching your many vids in all different conditions. I notice the majority of you guys are wearing PFD's, is there a model / type that is the most popular? Rocket.

Thanks for those. Good vids. Very inspiring but a bit scary if you lost your board out there.

Great vid DJ, thanks for giving us an insight into the fun you are having. I can't believe you are not wearing a steamer and hood in those conditions.

Nice vid DJ, looks like I missed another great run.
Hot and sweaty here in Japan but no sup opportunities, looking forward to getting home.
