Thirth session with my 6.6 freeride sail on my Naish Nalu 10'10" So much fun.
Today I was surfing down waves with the sail. So cool to pull the board into the right waves!
Problem right now is drift.. I always seem close hauled and make no way on my tacks.
Should be the fin I guess.
Any suggestion with US box fin I should get? I am targetting 5-15 knots of wind here...
Cheers!

I think you might need the Naish dagger fin like the one you can see near the start of this vid.

FCS 8.5 Sup single works well on old 9'8 starboard with standard plastic fronts. I've tried a few - MFC 24, MUF 20 and 22 upright wave fins and the old SUP single gives the best up wind and looseness

It's very raked fairly thick but works well

Any Naish dealer can get you one.. IMO.. It's the only fin that will work and I've tried a few.

It's the 11 1/2"" fin that comes on the 12'6" and 14" Glide.. (Not the new 2014 boards)

It's the white fin in this pic.. btw.. They are pretty cheap.

Thank you DJ, I'll ask my surfshop.
What's the story with the left fin in the picture btw?

@ greenleader, yeah the 10 1/2" dolfin fin.
It works but upwind is a pain.

Thanks also Russh.

OK, i tried some Naish dealers here in Italy, no replacement fins for now. No way to order one too. Bummer.
So I need a windsurf freeride fin in the US box and at least 30cm. Can't find anything atm. Any suggestions?

You might be able to order one direct from Windginuity here in Oz.

Use a smaller sail.
Learn how to use the rail of the board!!!
Get a 9" fin.

Ur sail is too large and ur pointing the board too close to the wind, leading to too much drag hence too much side slippage.

Yeah unfortunately I don't live in OZ...
I just got an email from Tim @ Mauiultrafins Europe, he tells me the problem is a common one as he also uses his SUP's for windsurfing where you need to go upwind and against the currents to catch waves. He suggests the 32cm X-Wave, available in US box. This should give good upwind performance but still be loose enough due to the cut-out at the tip. I'll keep you guys informed!
