It is of course debatable whether the likes of Beau O'Brian or Jackson Close could win gold anyway, they probably could.

That's not debatable!

Jackson is a legend!!!!!

Jackson should of won the ISA contest last year, he was the form sufer and didnt lose a heat all comp but was starved for a back up wave in the final and finished a very creditable 4th.

They do this to every group they represent for australian selection. They have been pissing off people near the top of there specialty for years. Never seems to be 100% fair and a lot of people lose interest ,which is a shame , there are alot of legends of the waves out there in Australia that should have donned the colours, not been ripped off by management/selectors/ sponsors. Not saying this team isnt worthy of selection, hope your all winners there.

What a joke. Oh well. If u wanna compete next in now you know where u stand lol.

Solid team with great results assured ... but why didn't they choose the team based on the Aussie Titles?

Why were the 2 best prone specialist available not chosen in the Aussie team! As far as i know it's not a development squad!

Pretty sure most respectable paddlers would say Brad Gaul is one of the best prone paddlers competing these days....referring to it as a "development squad" is a pretty much a insult to all these guys hard work and commitment.
