G'day All,

My first SUP post...

A friend of mine (in the US) has asked me about 'inflatable SUPs'. I've never even heard of an inflatable SUP so cant offer any advice... so... any advice?? Any situations where they are an advantage?

Have a look at this thread on seebreeze there's a bit of chat about inflatables.
Hope it helps.

They are like a blow up sex doll.. Not as good as the real thing.. (not that I would know) ..

The main advantage is the storage and transport convenience.. But they are slow and pretty wobbly to stand on and paddle.

They are also good for dragging onto the deck of boats.. and good for paddling where there's lots of rocks.

Windy,

Next time you are in Perth drop in and borrow the Starboard Astral and the C4 Isup and give them a go.

Hi windjunky,

Fanatic have just released a new range of inflatable SUP's which look pretty good. Check out the video on this page link below.

http://www.fanatic-sup.com/content/products/sup/fly_air/index_eng.html

We've had nothing but glowing reviews from customers who have purchased the Hobie inflatables too, apart from the pumping up issue.

Enter the inflatable electric pump to do most of the work for you.

The Inflatables are good, or even excellent, provided they fit your circumstance.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I've passed this forum on to my friend in the States, so hopefully he will be able to follow up a few things.

BTW: I'm still on my knees fairly often getting out in the surf... does anyone else suffered 'toe abrasions' when doing this... and if so, how do you stop it! (Dont say "stand up"!!!)
