The point he makes at the end in regards to SUP being another hazard, it seems that most SUPers have a surf/kite/windsurfing background and have taken up SUPping to be able to get away from the crowds. Only yesterday at Trigg, the only real place to surf in Perth, I paddled 300m down the beach and had a peak to myself. I would happily sacrifce quality over having to battle 20 others for marginally better waves.

Only someone from WA or another amazing place would say that they don't want to compete with 20 other people for waves.

Come to the Goldy some time, 20 people is 'nobody out'.

Lucky we can drive a bit to escape it though!

There would be no one out in the goldie if it looked like Trigg

Worst wave in Australia at the moment. No banks and backwash with heaps of crew.

You'd be surprised, there were 20 guys on a 1 foot, onshore semi closeout this morning. I took the prone paddleboard and paddled a few kays in the opposite direction. I don't mind upwind so much lying down........

What a crock - a shortboard SUP turns better than a Mal, he doesn't list Mals in his group of undesirable craft!

PS: my local beachie was head high today and we had a head high sucky reef break with 4 of us out yesterday - having a good run so far this year in Sydney

Read Bob Mc's book STOKED, it will explain what George is all about.
And I mean that in a nice way.
