Has anyone ever seen or thought of a swallow tail race board? Would there be any benefits or what would the disadvantages be

If you are a US manufacturer... Put Danny "Cha" Ching on a swallow tail, and watch them sell !!

My 2 cents on theory... It would reduce your tail lift... Bog the tail slightly....

Take a big square tail, like the 12'6 Fanatic, and custom cut it into a Vee tail (Swallow Tail).... I think the original would be technically quicker... But you never know, until you give it a go!

square tails work by squeezing water across tail to create drive

swallow tails squeeze less water yet track on rail easier

is how it was explained to me in terms of surfboard design

IMO the tail shape making any difference on a race board is like saying the colour will make a difference..

my 2 cents- i've thought a diamond tail could work. nice wake of a pinnie and the extra stability with the area of a square tail normally gives----- maybe

Years ago Mark Richards said that when someone asks him for a swallow tail, he gets out his tape measure and measures the distance between their eyes...

I would have thought a square would be better for catching small runner type of waves because of the surface area and the tipping forward motion, with a swallow as you say they would bog. I dont think it would be much but it would help.
