My latest home made camera mount .. .. Have I gone too far?

It seems more solid than my last mount with a bit less wobble.

Just trying to get that third person POV so it feels like you're joining me on a down-winder rather than feeling like being taken for a ride on my board.

I'm looking forward to trying this mount on the nose of my board looking back.. I might even try a little longer side arm to get an even more side on view.

If you watch my vid just watch your head at the 50 second mark and get ready to duck..

DJ, your creativity with PVC and Duct tape never ceases to amaze me. You even have a diagonal brace to take some of the load off. I will watch the movie when I get home but am sure it will be as good as your others.

I agree the angle is awesome,
The rear view gives a great idea of the speed.
Great Vid

That's some fancy plumbing. If you push a button does it flush?

DJ the plumbers of this world would be proud of you,

Which point of the bay do you downwind from? I am presuming you go on a SW?

Great video, didn't realize you shuffle your stance as much downwind on a SUP.

Priceless DJ - if it goes pear-shaped I guess you could use it to have a leak with efficient disposal well behind the DW'er

Yeah.. PVC pipes... It's like a big boys meccano set..

We actually do our DW'er on Notherlies.. Mostly St Kilda to Sandy.. Or Port Melb to Rickets Point.. We've even done St Kilda to Mornington and Rickets to Frankston.. The SW wind is often very messy and hard work.. Northerlies are like a wave pool..

With the big DW boards (16-18') you don't have to move as much but the 14s require lots of foot work.. 12'6"s even more... DW'ers are all about pearling and trying to avoid it as much as possable.

Ha.. Btw.. If anyone finds a GoPro attached to about a foot long piece of PVC pipe .. It's mine.. Lost it a few weeks back and it's still down there somewhere.. (around the Brighton-Elwood area)..

I'm looking forward to our next glassy day with crystal clear water.. We don't get many days like that.
