I'll get a picture of it for you just sitting on flat water so you can see that there is actually a fair bit of rocker.. especially in the tail.
Had three surfs on the 10'3 and it's been great so far. I went from the 9'8 Pro to this and I'm really enjoying the different feel. The 9'8 was the 2011 and the trouble with that was that it was too easy to turn! Sounds stupid, as if that is a problem, but this board is actually getting me to move around more, get right back to bottom turn and walk it some more. It's so fast on the face too, found on the bigger waves at big left if I got stuck in the middle of a big wide lump of whitewater I could actually generate enough speed to get out in front and cut across to the clean section of the wave. Because my small board is the 7'4 Pod I wanted to get the other end of the spectrum! Been practicing some cross stepping and enjoying the longer smooth bottom turns, the other thing that I'm enjoying is the paddling speed, a group of us had a long paddle upwind to a break last week and this board seemed so much faster than the others. Usually boards of this size just feel way too big because I'm so light but the rails are fine enough that I feel very confident on the wave face. So far so good! I'm not ever going to be an awesome surfer, started too old for that but the more I do the more it starts to 'click' and the more addicted I become. Pretty sure this will let me explore that longer board feel and get that style of surfing to the next level for me.
The waves have been a bit crap and lumpy so far, we certainly had some size and power at Big Left but it was windy and rough as guts, seemed to handle the lumpy faces very well and give a confident solid feel. Hopefully Monday we get some clean big waves Tortise and I'll get back to you!
don't rate them great crap wave board !!!!!!!!!!!! sure 10 out of 10 ,but there are better boards for good to great surf ,heaps better boards IMO
Maybe a bit of a harsh judgement....seems the latest version of the 10'3 gun has been somewhat refined & starboard does point out this is different from their previous gun Not that I own a SB myself...& maybe you have tried both versions
Isn't it great to be able to say( not that I own an SB myself )
