WHOA!! Hasn't this thread taken a different direction.......gee and I wonder why??

In the end everyone paddles for different reason, maybe the social aspect or just to push hard and earn a few extra beers on the weekend or maybe to increase fitness for their downwinders and for a small group that race at the elite level, regardless of why we all have or goals and a love for this awesome sport.

Whether you pay for training or not, whether you have a coach or not isn't the point, the key to success, motivation and bringing a group of like minded, passionate people together on the water is following a successful structured program.

So how this whole thread started was that we are running a free program designed by Mick Dibetta in Currumbin creek specializing on the 4 main energy system to increase anaerobic fitness, there was some interest from the Sunny coast so we offered to share it because at the end of the day the more people paddling faster the better it is for everyone.

But if you really feel the need to pay then please bring some money with you on Saturday morning, I'll buy a couple of beers that arvo at the surf club then donate the rest back to your local stand up club. See ya bright and early on Saturday

Awesome session and it has fueled the desire on the coast to get a group training together. Counted 24 there today.

Massive thank you from the Sunshine Coast.

The fact that one of our best paddlers in the country took time out to help so many on the coast today is another of the reasons I love to SUP.
Thanks Kelly, also Beau who offered hints to anyone who asked.
Great turnout and lets hope our group will continue to grow from here....

After the epic turnout , we will continue Kellys progam every Saturday morning at 5:30am (cotton tree jetty), Thursdays at 5:00pm (Kawana lake), and Mondays or Tuesdays morning or arvo??? Up to you?? (cotton tree jetty)
Anyone can run the sessions but at this stage we have JT, Swanie, Trev, Kev, myself and PT have put there hand up to do the timing:-)

Please see the sunny coast sup club web site with details.

How would you know!!!
you turn up once a week and sit at the back of the crew and watch everyone What a great session to the dedicated this morning with the (phamton of Coolum Photos) Lockie running the session!!!!!!!
Dont want to talk out of school but a certain top paddler turned up late and missed out on one lap and there was a silver van seen going south prior to training!!!
Go figure!!!

who's got the silver van.

one of my mates sons had a 21 st last night- ended being bigger than i bargained for.

sure i'm pretty paddle fit , but my drinking fitness is non existent.

so i missed out.

teatrea has been know to kick arse and be up the pointy end when he's on.

nothing wrong with watching 3 gun paddlers thrashing away to be in front and cruising their wake 3 metres behind .

three paddlers wide in front creates this nice little runner

Wow. You blokes are spoiled up there. We don't even have proper flat water to train on, let alone resident guns like your Pete Dorries and Kelly Margetts able and willing to coach and train a group.

It will all be off the beach (conditions permitting) in and out of the break so the 12'6 will be more suitable but if you only have a 14' then that will be fine also

Another great session from Kelly this morning. Awesome turnout (apart from Swanie sleeping in.... Meow).

Really appreciate the time and knowledge donated from both Kelly and Sondra. It's just what the sunny coast needed.

Cheers

Yep 100% correct. Got there as they were packing up. 16 hour day prior might have had a bit to do with it.

Seriously.... Love what Kelly does and if I could talk the Sunshine Coast Council to offer him enough to move here I would. Your crew is bloody lucky to have him.
