G'day guys. Just quick question. I have entered the king of the Cut. I enjoy down wind paddling but I'm in it for fun.

I only have one race board and it's a 12'6. I am I wasting my time entering or should I see if can borrow a 14footer.

With three surfing sups my funds cant cover 14footer as well.

You will be fine on a 12'6 Bender! You could probably do it on an esky lid if you could stand on one.
14 would be more ideal and no doubt quicker, though it would still be plenty of fun on a 12'6. Could be worth contacting a few of the shops and seeing if any of them want to hire/lend a demo out for the day! See you there!

Yep just do it on the 12'6 if you can't get your hands on a 14.

It is amazing how much difference it makes on a 14 though, I have done a couple of downwinders lately on my 12'6 because my 14 is stll at a mates place (well at least I hope it is).

Whilst it is still fun on the 12'6 you have to work much much harder to get on the runners, I was very suprised at how much more tired I feel after doing a downwinder on the 12'6 and the average/max heartrate is also much higher.

Pity you didn't have the 12'6" in QLD the other day, I might have been able to catch you..

Thanks for your input, advice and kind offers guys. I fellow breezer has kindly offered to lend me his 14fter.

The Sea Breeze community delivers once again.

I take delivery on Saturday. All I need now is the surf to be crap so I do some ling paddles instead of surfing
