Laird certainly is a a character - full of enthusiasm. I couldn't get over how thick his neck was either.
I thought the show was a little disappointing, I was expecting a few insights into what may drive them, other than what paddle/sup board Laird uses, how thick his neck was and the exercises he does to keep in shape. It just seemed like a whole lot of backslapping - I wasn't even convinced that they were friends. Yeah, Laird is a great surfer: Yeah, Eddie is a great rocker sort of stuff. I also thought the big wave song was pretty crap - but then I've never been a big fan of Perl Jam. I cringed when they subtitled the lyrics to the song - it would have sounded better without knowing:
