LALOMANU SAMOA TSUNAMI REBUILDING FUND
Following the deadly Tsunami on the 29th September there has been a rush of emergency relief flowing into Samoa including clothes, food and temporary shelter accommodation.
Nothing will erase the emotional and physcological effect that this tragic event has had on the people of Samoa. With over 1000 families permanently displaced and requiring new homes to be built and water and sanitation services to be re established, the focus now is shifting from disaster relief to rebuilding.
As a result the Lalomanu Samoa Tsunami Rebuilding Fund has been established to raise funds to provide financial support for the rebuilding process in the village of Lalomanu, the area worst affected by the tsunami.
We have a team of volunteers who arrived in Lalomanu on Sunday to help with the clean up, the feedback we are getting is one of total and complete devastation (photos attached).
On behalf of the council of Chiefs of Lalomanu Aleipata, the High Chief Fuataga, the team here at the fund and the families of Samoa I thank you for your support in this time of desperate need.
It is 5 mins out of our lives to help here, but will make a lifetime of difference to these people.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible. If anyone is interested in donating please let me know and I can pass on the relevant details. Donations can be made via cheque, direct funds transfer, or westpac banks.
