In my opinion it would be worth considering getting a fireball at 9'3 x 23 x 3. It is the best possible allround size for a fireball. It has all the volume you will ever need for the smallest or fattest days and will still kickass in heavier conditions. Be sure though to go for the pre-evolution model because the evolution in my opinion has too much rocker.

Hi, I was going custom with a local shaper, 9'1x 22.7'8 x 3 so just adding the extra thickness for a little more float.

2x6 top and 1x6 maybe 2 on the bottom for strength

The 9'3 you mention does surf different to the 9'1 its more a slow peeling wave board imho where the 9'1 will take it to almost anything.

After having the 9'1 fireball for over a yr i feel its grat best board i have ever surfed but need a little more thickness for 85kg

If you drop the length from 9'1" to 9' 7/8" it might turn better also....... ...........Just kidding.

Tux, when i say template.. Im saying the shaper will look at the fireball in his shaping bay and get the drift of the dimentions rocker etc and make a board verry close to it.

Im starting to think this may not work out.

I have plans here also for a 9'0 single fin glassed in. All round retro /modern board

Good for dribble to over head.

But any good shaper shoud be able to copy any board.

Ahh thats a peice of piss...flat table and a set of home made calipers will do the job....if they don't know how to do that I hear your cricket team is looking for a few blokes that can play

Depending on your budger you may find you can get a custom sent over from McTavish cheaper than you will buy one in NZ.
Be worth giving Greg Tilley a call at McT - think he works fridays.

Great idea, but the freight kills any ideas i think, but yep i would be in for the fireball custom with 3inch not 2/7'8 . Perfect

Boards get damaged easy in freight and macs are poly so a risk venture.

I have now taken this over to the longboards section. im sure the boys dont want to know.

Im sure a mac custom wont be a grand aust dollars.

BP,the fireball 9.1x23x3 is for the bigger guy (like me) if I was 85 to 90 kgs I would go 9.1x2 7/8x 22 3/4.
I've rid'n all and 9.4x23x3 is perfect for me 95 to 100 kgs.

Now you should have posted this in another forum and it better not go over one page otherwise I am pulling the pin.

Just buy a Naish or PSH around 10 to 10.6 , Mctavish fireball and get the f-ck out there for gods sake.

Its a HUGE call trying to copy the real deal, you will be disappointed if it does not turn out as the original, tip buy and go with the real deal weather its with a big brand or the smaller guy who knows boards. But don't copy either.

Thats it

Mac, its not a copy just a idea of what i like and shape it to a close contest with in the dimentions.

You mistake yourself mac, I live in the water . I just dont sup and now i wont be.

I was looking at having lsd's dimentions done here but no shaper will do sups.

So im off to order 2 new custom longboards

End of story for me on this forum, Yhanks for the pages of info

Over and out

.............it's the end of the BP era! I can't believe it. After months of input from you guys and you let him continue on his path of longboardedness.

Congrats to you all for having put so much time and effort into the BP era.

I'm sure when the "history of SUPB'ing" novel comes out there will be a chapter dedicated to this now bygone era.
