Any tips on the best leggy around at the moment? Also not sure whether to try a knee leggy v the ankle leggy - any thoughts would be much appreciated.

cheers.

Have more faith in ankle than knee attachment after velcro on my Balin knee fastening broke leaving me swimming. They did honour their 6 month guarantee but the replacement broke after little more than 5 or 6 weeks. Only got the 10 foot Bonga so not like its a boat. Got the Creatures of Leisure 12 foot outer reef ordered now

I use a 10 foot leggie. Since I have been attaching at the knee I have been standing on it heaps less

I prefer to use a knee leggy as I find it puts less torque on my knee if the board gets pulled away from me. As I have some screws in my knee and it doesn't really like being torqued, this has been the best option for me.-Ronnie

I have the o & e leggie no trouble
tried both ankle and below knee leggies , not much difference i reckon, maybe less tangles by the knee one

Personally I have been using a standard creatures 10fter and a Pro-lite 9fter for a year and a half now - I take a different one each time and have never broken either and find them both really comfy. I have tried the outer reef but found it created way too much drag in the water.

Check out this new Balin leggie that designed for sup's.. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=53336&SearchTerms=new,balin,leggie

The standard sup leggie has two meters of coil and one meter of straight.. and all up it's a 12' leggie.

It's a knee cuff that can also be used on your ankle.. I use mine on my knee and when the surf get big I then move it to my ankle.

They can be ordered from any surf shop.. SHQ and RPS here on Melbourne have them.. also Strapper in Torquay have them.

It's 7.4mm urethane... I haven't heard of one breaking yet.

They are only new and I don't think anyone has had one out in anything over 3ft. I have one and have been
reluctant to use it in the surf, but after yesterday getting my paddle caught up in my leggie on numerous
waves I'm going to give it a shot. It does look super strong but I'm just a bit suss on the coil. Not sure why.
It's a nightmare of mine to snap a leggie so I hope it holds out.

all good advice - thanks. Had the outer reef before I left it in the carpark.....never had a problem with it, am thinking the knee leash may be quicker to pull the board back to you when paddling out after having your leg tendons stretched out - too bad COL dont make the outer reef with knee strap.

Update on my Balin breakage was no problem getting a credit back to the retailer for my second breakage which was very gracious of them. Probably should have beeen the 10 foot leggy rather than the 9 foot recommended by the person behind the counter I suspect
