I`m working up here at the moment and have been enjoying this splendid part of the coastline, especially Currumbin. Supping seems pretty popular there, understandibly so given the nature of the break. Today I watched in disbelief as a fairly competent SUPer paddled way out to the point on about a 9 footish board and proceeded to take off as far inside as possible. Granted he did make a couple of them, but the ones this hero did`nt make came close to wiping out several very young short boarders. I`m sure we`ve all read about the incident at the pass recently where a young boy had his head split open by a malibu. Do we really want this repeated by a SUP. I`ve ridden short boards, surf mats, boogie boards, malibus, windsurfers and now SUP`s throughout my life. We all have a right to the waves, but honestly, use a bit of sense when your driving a bloody big heavy piece of fibreglass through a crowded break. No matter how good YOU THINK you are.

Good reminder, thanks Lonova, to all users of our oceans,
We are sharing it, not owning it.

absolutely no reason to be there, don't know who it was, but that's just showing off and putting others a risk.
