Hmmm I saw the Forecast just after I had arranged brunch. (shakes fist)

Let me work on it. How far to go and what time do we depart you reckon?

Quiet you [}:)]

There would be no better way to jinx the wind then for me to rearrange everything now.

It's on tomorrow for those interested.

We're meeting at sandy (SHQ kiosk) at 930am and then start from St Kilda at 10am... Finish back at Sandy at 11.30-12 midday.

Forcast is for a north wind of 20-30 knots.. Perfect..

Checking back in....

Myself, Oliver, DJ and JonathanC just completed a "Downwinder" from St Kilda to Sandringham. Wind never really turned up. It was about 10-12 knots behind us MAX and frequently quite a bit less.

Still a nice paddle but runners for the new Penetrator were a bit elusive unfortunately.

I demoed the new Naish paddle. I really llike the flex in it. It has an ergonomic style handle (which I prefer over the T-bars) and the blade size was pretty good for me (6' 95kg). It has a very faint dihedral which seems to work pretty well as I wasnt getting any wander even after I developed a blister that caused me to loosen my bottom hand off heaps. Downside is its noticeably heavier than the kialoas and werners. Its still very light but you'd probably think twice about racing with it. It also has some cool Naish calligraphy down the shaft which I like.

yeah this paddle was the one without the notch. I think if they can get the shaft a bit skinnier they'll get the weight down a bit as it feels a bit thick in the hand.

This wind is being really weird. We could see it but it never came near us

I have a few pictures from today.

To start with our Down-winder turned into a No-winder.

I don't know what happened to out 30 knots but at St Kilda it was nowhere to be seen.

I got to try out my new Kialoa paddling top.. When Sam from Kialoa came down to out OG13 demo day I was lucky enough to get a couple of Kialoa tops because she knows how much I love Kialoa.. One top was a light weight Sumer top (Red) and this is more of a Winter top that's a sort of thin stretchy neoprene.

I think because of the no-wind we had a few pikers.. We ended up with Jonathan with his new Pene.. Lobes and me with Glides and Oliver with his 11'6" Naish.

None of us expected glass like this.. Jonathan getting too his feet.

Christian was using the new Naish carbon paddle called the 'Race Blade'.

Jonathan getting his Pene up to speed.

Check out how that thing slips through the water.. he stops paddling and it doesn't slow down.

3/4 of the way through our No-winder we stopped off at Green point and said hi to some windsurfers that were waiting for the 30 knots.

I offered them a go of my Glide and they were keen to have a go.. They all came back with a smile from ear to ear.

After leaving Green Point Jonathan decided to put pedal to the metal and show me just what his new Penetrator can do.

I paddled as hard as I could only to see Jonathan slipping further and further ahead of me.. that board flys.
