This was an epic session the pics tell the story! The highlight of the afternoon was the Sparrow 5 such a classic move on a board that short sub 8ft

Thanks Phill.. But Sparrow's so light I'm sure he could hang ten while at a stand-still on flat water..

It's looking like his new board is working well for him.

Love that last shot of your girls.

Good shots Phil!

What blows me away is how Adam can be in surf stance on a SUP and his front foot is forward of the middle. Helps to have legs 4ft long!

Hi Brendon,

I was trying to explain that to Div yesterday, when I paddle in parallel stance on the DC 9'4 I stand foward of the center handle and on take off I take one large step foward and that usually puts my front foot 5 inches off the nose.

On take off I am often close to nose riding down or across the face. It does your head in the first few times but it works a treat.

This pic of rich shows what I am talking about, by the way when you get that far foward on a DC it hits hyperspace lol.

But remember you cant nose ride a short board SUP how silly of me!

That shot of Adam is a bit of an illusion (not really the word) but the handle on his board is also a bit behind
centre. In the top pic you can tell he has his feet pretty wide apart, with long legs probably about 3ft apart!

A major positive about the shorter boards I have found especially after surfing Southside on Sunday is
with a slightly wider stance you can move your weight forward and back to trim without moving your feet.
Makes things easier!

Brendon,

With the weight of the fins they use in such a light board the handle needs to be behind centre or the board would not be balanced.
