Hey everyone, just joined forum as i am considering buying my first sup. I have been surfing for over 20 yrs and want an sup for smallish days as it has been pretty flat here on the coast of vic for the last week. I only moved to vic from Margaret River 3 months ago and seen the boys over there getting into it last year. Does anyone have a decent board and paddle to sell for a fair price?

Welcome Brooko
First of all I'd like to say... ARE YOU NUTS!!!
Moving out of MR. What for?
Anywho hope you get yourself a good board. I ride Starboards and think they are pretty damn good I had a sick solo sesh at my spot this morn and have just begun to get my 11'2 wired. Learning to engage the rail and taking hell late drops in just a foot of water.
Ive been surfing and windsurfing and since SUP surfing, it has opened up another window for me

Cheers guys, dont know how many times i hear "you left Margaret River " we had lived in mr for 16 yrs, and still have 10acres and a house there. We moved to Portland in the green traingle region for work commitments and were able to get 110 acre here for half the price of 10 in mr, the surf here cranks although i just ordered my 4x3 lotus west suit

Hey Brooko,
Ian from Mt Gambier here, welcome to the area.
If you want to travel up the road a bit you can have paddle on my board until you get one.
Bridge water would be a great SUP wave.

DJ,
The Blue Lake is out of bounds, it's our drinking water.
Valley Lake next door is where we water ski. I've had a couple of session on the lake but I pefer to head to the beach 15 minutes down the road to SUP and kite. (Port MacDonnell)

I'm the only SUP rider around here. Never surfed in my life before, and wanted to do sometime on those light wind days.
Last Christmas when kiting in Torquay, I saw few guys on these long malibu things with a paddle and thought what a waste of time. I actually said to few of my kiting mates, you wouldn't see me dead on one of those things. LOL, now I'm a proud owner and loving it.
Just curious, are there many older guys over your way getting into it or is it a younger guys sport?

Brooko,
I'm heading off on a learners SUP holiday for the next 2 weeks. When I get back, I would like to have a crack at Bridge Water. Give me a ring after the 8th May, we should hook up.

Thanks for the info about the blue lake..I wont piss in it next time I'm there....Maybe they should put in a big pipe from that lake all the way to Melbourne..

I think to start with it was mostly older farts like me..but I'm seeing younger guys into it now..and loving it..I haven't seen any groms yet tho..
