I've just heard that there's NOT going to be any independent judges at this weekends Mystic Nsw Sup Surfing Titles......WTF!!! Sounds like it's going to be the old curse of the local boardriders club comp where the most "popular" surfer will win.
Really SUP Australia you want to make this a lagitamet event yet you can't (or wont) provide the “back bone” of the event?????

Now I've had my rant I am off to pay any outstanding debts or return anything that I've bowered from anyone who could be judging my heat this weekend.

Yea SUPA are running a judging course the day before the event at The Entrance, and those doing the course will be judging so they can get the hours up to be accredited.The word is Woogy Marsh will be judging, he should be independant, and the head judge Phil Baggs has international accreditation.
Of course if you want to do the course the day before the event you to can judge and possibly take a bribe off your mates to make sure they go good!!!

Won't have a lot of time before the course but might be able to fit another quick training session in on that competition bank at Northy.

Yeah - there are some good little banks up there at the moment. The SSE trashed it late morning but the forecast is for light offshores this weekend, so could be good.

Terrene Black smashed it the Women's heat.

If your an accredited judge does that mean you can't compete in the event. I'm not 100% sure but I thought there was some rule that if you judge you can't compete in a national or state titled event.

if its not a rule it should be.

That would make sense - I doubt I'll be allowed to judge my own division.
