I know DJ, how about a topic about making stand up paddling sound like fun when it's freezing, choppy, raining and you have 40 kn winds to deal with.

I did it today - and it was very challenging, but I'm still glad I went for it, and I'm still buzzing from doing it several hours later. As it turned out I had a really good session - I paddled over to my favorite sand bar about 300m off shore from the inlet in Inverloch. There is a very deep tidal channel beside it where the current is extremely strong.

When I finally got there I pulled out all my fishing tackle, attached a to milk crate contraption fastened to my board, and got onto some big fighting australian salmon, I'm so excited from the experience today, I can't wait to do it again - even though my toes are blue.

That's great Oliver..I was going to come down and join you but this crappy stormy weather put me off...Next time for sure.

You need one of those little waterproof cameras (like John and Helke have)..so you can take pictures of the fish that you catch for us to see..It sounds like fun.

Did you use the Uli in those strong winds?..if so..I hope you are using a leggie..
