Definitely a worthwhile idea for that certain market.

At 1:15 he says "set the bindings and fins"...but doesn't show the underside?

Mrs cartoon likes it, she has a pathological aversion to lifting things on top of the car. He's taking pre-orders at US$1000 for one and $2200 for three units. With shipping to oz and gst it'd be well competitive with inflatables but if he's making them in roto PE with all that structure they'd be heavy (but tough, and easy to repair). Good luck to him I reckon, hope he gets it into production.

(tim neimeir has some cred in paddle craft, he founded Ocean Kayak in the 70's and they're still making some of his designs).

Interesting idea although the shape looks like it could do with some work. These look better to me. Might work for race/dw boards too? http://www.jblairsurf.com/2_and_3_Piece_SUP_s.html

mr rager, what joe blair needs to do is have a interchange centre piece.

a board could be 12'6 or a 14 ' er. technical racing or distance racing

and if it was fast, well the perfect setup for the interstate/international race paddler now that the board lenghts seem to be set at those two lenghts

think the origami board will do pretty well

Good idea mr Lane . If they could be kept light I think they might work for race boards. Two pieces 6'3" for a 12'6" with an 18" centre "extension" piece. Not sure the outline could be extended to make a 17'er and then there's the problem of steering. I'm sure there are clever chaps out there who could make it all work

really cool...for that particular customer.
If the shape was worked on I think it could really do well.
