Thanks.. How would you answer this?

"I am 235lbs 57 yrs old I tried the 10'4 in the harbor and thought it was fine. From what I hear the hull paddler is very good too. I surfed for 45 years just learning sup and trying to figure out options so Blane if you see this or any one else does please give me your thoughts, I would prbably 85 % surf 15% just paddling around flatwater etc. Any body have any thoughts ?"
For this fella, I reckon the 10'4 would be a good choice.
If he wanted to do as much flat paddling as surfing, the Hull would be the go (or a longer board). The 10'4 surfs great and is a fun board, so unless he gets too serious in his surfing, it would be a long-term board for sure.
Would obviously be better for him if he could have a go on a Hull to help his decision, but sounds like he doesn't have access.
Yeah, spot on Tryfan!
The 10'4 is the most recent shape in the PSH Boardworks range with a fine, pulled in tail - typical of Blane's high performance surfing boards. With a traditional bottom shape it is designed to progress your surfing to a higher level whilst offering maximum stability.
The 10'4 X.Wide all rounder performance is best described as 70% surfing - 30% paddling. Ultimately the 10'4 X.Wide all rounder offers surfing performance that allows you to progress way beyond current abilities.
The Hull Paddlers or Hull AA's improve the glide and paddle-ability of the board and still maintain wave performance as Leroy as found out.
The new Hull's are a completely different board that break through current limitations, offering improved glide, speed and forgiveness in and around the white water.
The 10'2 Hull AA's performance is best described as 50% surfing -50% paddling.
The full extent of the surfing performance of these new boards is still to be tested as most people surfing them are still progressing.
They will change the way we think of board performance.
We look forward to further updates Leroy!
