AA,
When are those wood number in aus? Production models lookin a bit dated compare to the newer sticks. Still rekon the 9'3" ripper would be sweet in big waves and I sure all the other models are functional a stuff but for how long?

Scotty

I watched Mr Hill on one of those fancy little wood numbers last Saturday.

Perfect 3 times overhead at the peak, very impressive!

I to provided jet ski wake for Mr Hill to complain about.
It was very impressive, this is a chunky peak we surf and no matter how hard he paddled, it was not till he got to the top of the peak and gravity took over that the wave would allow him to ride and was taking 3 ohead drops

Mr Hill would have prefered to have the 12er that day. Drops were quite late. Wood 10er is fantastic in smaller stuff.

Think Mr Chambers has big plans for early next year.

Hey Scotty, yes that little mix up goes back a bit!
It was just over a year ago, but in 'SUP years' it feels like about 10 years ago!!
How is this thing moving along? Unbelievable!

So fast in fact that models that are a year old are often considerred 'outdated'!
I would put a fair swag of money however on the 9'6 Wide Ripper, the 10'6 Wide AA and the 12' Gun as being classics that have along life of stoking people out, ahead of them.

What exactly is coming? To be honest I don't know cos when Blane is in creative mode he is a grumpy old bastard and wont talk to anyone one! [}:)] Best to leave the man to do what he does best, I say. From what we have seen so far (HILLY's 10' Gun and my 9'2 wide) is impressive and knowing Blane, he is going to back it up.

Unfortunately we wont be seeing anything in 'wood veneer' in the short term because they are all customs and Blane is now focussing on, yes, ready for it - production boards .
It is still a few months away so we hold our breathe and say nothing - good time to just go surfing I guess..

Speaking of which I had the pleasure of showing my 12 y.old son how to wax up his first glass board the other day and it hit me what a significant moment that was!

Made even better when we hit Queenscliff that afternoon and the onshore wind turned to glass and we shared a very special session together! Its called the parental trade-off. You work your arse off and often wonder why, then suddenly it hits you!

Mate you just keep ploughing away with your sander because I reckon some of your new shapes are 'on the money'!! See you at the MAMBO??

I know exactly what you mean-my 8 year old won a division in BL's comp last week, http://www.blblastoff.com.au/HOME.html, and won a brand new 5'5" Chilli chillisurfboards.com/, Grom board - was a delight to wax it for the first time with her and watch her paddle out for her first surf on her first totally brand new board.

I know Blane has some kids specific boards in the pipe. It is a whole new line revamp from the ground up, but wont be seen until the New Year at the earliest.

Yeah, nothing quite like it eh, Loco's! Don't know about the comp side of surfing as my fella has enough on with Nippers, soccer and swimming. Surfing for us is the outlet from all that other stuff called LIFE! Good luck for future events!

Yes, it takes a whilst to get the 'little people' up and going. I found that it wasn't until 6-8 that we had the strength to do a lot of the things we were encouraging him to do. Not that we were pushing him into MTBiking or surfing! Yeah lucky kid. Shame he doesn't snowboard!

Mine love the StandUp as well. They just find the size of it a bit daunting when they get rolled. It would be like us taking out a 20'er into the shore break!
