Thanks Rich.. That is a good one.
Do you know if Matt ended up getting the Olympus 1030 camera?
I'm still tossing up between it and the GoPro.

Hi DJ as you know I have the original GoPro and a fairly dodgy looking helmet mount that I made - I never use it, you would be very welcome to borrow it. I also have a 1030SW Olympus and that thing is usually in my pocket when I'm paddling, fantastic to be able to use it whenever something interesting appears. Took a video of a very big stingray in shallow water at Sandy Point recently by just reaching down into the water with it. Also ideal for shots from a different angle on those hot StKilda days......

I've got the Olympus and it's a great little toy. The best thing is the in-built panorama feature and the high resolution. It's great for creative photography if you know how to trick the options and modes.
I like the idea of the GoPro because you can set it to autoshoot either video or stills every few seconds, and you can buy mounts for anything you want to mount it on.
Neither camera has a time-lapse mode which is something I would like to do. I guess you could extract individual frames afterwards using editing software.
