I'm new to the sup scene but am looking for a protective edging to put around my paddle so that I dont damage the board if it accidently hits the rail hard.
I've seen a really good edging on a california surf site called infinity surf which is like a clear plastic lining that goes around the outside of the paddle but have had no luck finding something similiar in oz, perhaps im not looking in the right places.
If anyone uses such a thing on their paddle would love to know where to get it from or just would be good to hear from anyone on their thoughts on what you use??
If any shops stock any type of paddle protection would love to order some!
James another thing Ive used on my last 3 boards is 3M automotive impact tape which comes in 5m rolls @ 50mm wide and fix 1 to 1.5 meters down each rail of your board. This is clear tape that sticks really well ( to gloss surfaces )and not only protects your board from paddle hits but all minor bumps and knocks. I also use ordinary black electrical tape and run a strip around paddle edge and finish off with a few turns round shaft to seal off - doesnt come off and cheap to replace.
