Hi All,

I have been floating around for a few weeks now and all is going well. I wonder if there was a site / on line source that offered tips on paddling for improvers.

I have viewed the short films from the guys at C4 and a really good one from the quickblade site which was a good start.

Is there a better one out there or just some general advice on keeping moving forward would be a great help.

cheers

Mick

Dave Kalama is good at sharing info !! Go and get yourself lost in his website for a while !!
www.davidkalama.com/
He has some great stuff;
- Recover
- The Catch
- Applying Power
- Sequencing
- Gliding

You'll probably find some good stuff by DK on You Tube also.

The write up and video's he has are great.

There's 2 main paddling styles one is a more OC inspired stroke that is shorter and more "explosive" where you only pull the blade back to about your body possition from the "catch". The other you pull the blade the full way through. Choosing which one you want to use is the first step. Seems the shorter stroke is used by a lot of the top racers (more than likely becuase they have an OC backround) and more race orientated folks.
