I hope everyone had a good w-e, mine was just perfect !
I had a short sesh on Sat arvo in scarbs but the tide was too low, it was ok on the Laird 10 as it's a narrow board really fast down the line, but I definilty didn't have lot of fun...the banks were too straight the tide too low and the backwash didn't help at all...I had a few waves and went home...
But Sunday was great !!
I paddled out on the Laird again at Brighton beach (scarbs) but it wasn't much better than the day before, so I paddled up to mettams (about 3k up the coast), the front north easterly wind wasn't helping but I like challenges !
I shared some waves with the longboarders in mettams (no SUP out at that time), had a few awesome nose rides and paddled downwind back to Brighton beach (the wind actually dropped, but staying close to the beach I scored some good waves on my way down) and ended up having a few last ones in front of the car park.
Then I went for lunch.
And went back out couple of hours in Mettams the tide was lower and the wave much better I rode mostly on the tail and had some great waves, few other SUPs out, the later was the best as the wind died and the number of surfer decreased.
1 day, 2 sessions, 1 board, 1 paddle, 3 different riding styles (cruising, longboard noserides, shortboard tailrides)... I love SUP !
