Well done Peasey & SUPSA crew, without all of your efforts we'd have no event at all !

That was a battle but without the numbers in tough conditions we wouldn't have events to enter when we do get lucky for the perfect DW......
So well done to everyone who helped make up the numbers.....trophies or prizes or nothing, it's another box ticked to support SUP.

i'm not after fame, sponsored, sell boards or in the sup business

Infamy is a type of fame and you are certainly infamous for selling the odd board or two.

ok, so i sell the odd second hand board.

note. 4 of us did a 18 km ocean upwind paddle at byron one time. no one else fronted. we certainly didn't want to to do it either. i decided during that race not to do up racing again even thou i won $200. thats my call and its a democratic country and i feel i've done my share of crap races. as for supporting sup ping, well, yes thats all good and its what drives some people, but personally i could just do free dw ing without racing for the rest of my life. i don't need racing events to keep me happy so i wish people would stop making out like the world would stop if a event got dropped.

plenty of guys surf without being remotely interested in contests or what the pro's are doing.

i'm not anti this or that and wish the best for supsa

yes well done organisers. especially the cold beer at the end!!

yes the quick dudes and gals are freaks, but to those people near the end coming in with skin off knees.... well done!!! seriously. conditions where SO tough for the non elite, and some were in the water for near on three times the pros. pat urselves on the back if u can lift ur arms :)

Gotta say a massive congratulations to everyone who got out there and had a go!!! Whether you finished or not (and if you didn't you weren't alone!) those conditions were super tough and you all stood up and had a go when plenty of others didn't.

Loved seeing the junior girls, ke'ale and Chloe both paddling strong to the finish, and I think a new young gun has been discovered in Toby Cracknell, an 18 year old from nsw central coast who made the trip to qld for his first sup race and finished 2nd in the 14 class and 7th overall! I think we'll see him up there with the other elite kids, Jake, Lincoln and Trev in plenty of races to come.

Great work by Peasey putting the event together again and everyone else who helped out on the day too.

Just posted the FULL RESULTS >>>>

---------------------------

Massive thanks to Peasey for pulling this off, to Ali for getting the results 100% and to everyone who slogged it out. Wasn't a pretty downwinder by any means, but that just made it even more rewarding when you crossed the line.

86 names on the start line also made it one of the biggest SUP races in Australia, awesome to see.
