The wind came up and spoiled this about 9am. Lovely uncrowded local spot shared by a few and hardly seen by the tourist. Always a pleasant surf with all types of surf craft without the rot and aggression that you read about in some posts about other places.

Would love to share the spot but PT might head slap me.

I can't take credit for the shot. It was done by Karl Angel from www.angelsurfphotography.com
Phil: Yes I got myself 2 hours of it before the wind. Pretty cold up here, had to wear a sleeveless spring suit.

Ah magic day allover the country by the sounds of it.
I had one of the offshore reefs to myself this morning.
Glassy conditions and nice waves. Big cruise ship dropped the pick as well.
Allsgood

Lets keep the talk going for Point Cartwright.Lovely waves to Surf on all craft.
No boat wash to bounce you around,Easy going locals, Never Crowded,Just a few rocks with local bikini models sun baking in dental floss swimmers.

Visiting surfers are offered hot coffee on the cold mornings and a refreshing ale after the arvo session.

The stretch of coastline from The Pocket in the north to Moffart Beach in the south has no shark meshing, severe beach erosion, with oil contamination still not cleaned up from the tanker spill last week.

When a bank forms its is pounced on a local crew of ex "bra boys and long boarders from Nambour who even on the coldest days only wear footy shorts.

This desolate wind blown stretch of Queenslands Sunshine coast is even mentioned in Mark Warrens giude to surfing Australia as being in the top 3 most dangerous beaches, top honours to Gove N.T.for croc attacks 2nd place the Werribbee out fall Vic. and Kawana Waters 3rd.

Swannie keep those pics of Carties up on Seabreeze,I hane'nt slapped anyone for a few days.

Regards

Sorry PT it is not Carties but Mooloolaba in front of the life guard tower. Great spot where your partner can go and shop while you surf the uncrowded beach.

Wouldn't dare falsely recommend that dangerous stretch at Kawana.... Unsafe.....Big Sharks....Car Vandals......Toxic waste.......Board snapping shorey.....Unsurfable wave......Surf Rage from big hairy people with a penchant for violence.

Nah... best spots on the coast are Mooloolaba, Noosa and Maroochydore.

Thats the spot for the visiting crew.Gentle low tide beachy, lots of car parking, freindly clubbies constantly honing their I R B skills. Surf boat rowing classes for beginners often taking volunteers for free rides.

Come on Swanie ,any breezers heading our way are more than welcome.

A big crowd around here is you ,me and Kramer.

I was working in Vic a few years ago and the torquay crew took me everywhere from 13th to Gibson steps,so just let us know , more than happy to share a few waves.[and I don't slap anyone]

Just back from a week and a half at Sunshine Coast and would like to thank Swanie for allowing me to come along on Sunday and have a SUP with the lads. All be it, a snapped leggie saw me swimming in and cutting short the surf. Great to see the club taking off on the Sunny Coast like it has down here. Shame the week and a half saw us having a rock thrown through the back windscreen then the following night having the unit broken into and wallets and phones stolen .... think that Caloundra should change it's name to the Sunshine Coast Bronx

Here is another at my favourite beach.

You can see it was taken by Karl Angell.

Check out his website for more photos on www.angellsurfphotography.com
If you want to give someone a unique present such as a photo of your kids surfing he is very affordable and does a great job.

Hi Chris
It was good to see you up this way. Bloody disappointing that the Caloundra left that taste in your mouth. It is a Beautiful place but has had it share of troubles of late. I am about 15km up the beach from there in a place called Buddina just 5 doors from the beach. It is a peninsula of land that has no through traffic to the main tourist areas. For that reason it is often a lot quieter then other locations. There is great accomodation in this area as well for holiday makers. It is only a 5 minute drive to Mooloolaba (just across the river) It is pretty much a residential area but has a major shopping centre, pub and surf club in its heart.

Consider it for your next trip.

Check the sand build up at secrets,Danos was onto it last week end.

The pilot boat skipper tells us there is no intention of dredging river mouth or the bay any time soon.

Keep the pics coming Swanie,

i mean the last couple of days.

I surf the bar crossing at Happy Valley today. Closer to the Bribie side. Fairly suckie and the wave raps around so your left handers turn from a nice face into a head on wall. Got a couple of great rides and some smash up as well.

Absolutely Brooko

Surfed 2 hours today in boardies and a rash shirt. Mind you my spring suit had a zipper malfunction yesterday.

And yes it is a bikini friendly area all year round.

Thanks for the tip Swanie.

How early have the northerlies started this year,so easy to paddle across to the Bribie side for a surf .

Seems to be some unreal sand formations there ,rights and lefts.Allways offshore/cross shore in the northerlies.

Lifeguarding at Kings , allways pulling swimmers out the rips in the passage on the Jet.
[not making that one up]

Great spot in those condition and a favourite of Luke Kings.

Best part is it is too far out for a crowd.
