With over 2000 hits and 90 replies this has certainly been a hot topic (just like the last time it was brought up) so it is obviously is on peoples minds a bit.

As loco4olas started this thread I think he sums it up pretty well with his last statement here. This thread started out as a simple suggestion and many took offence to it. I personally kind of like the suggestion as it does get a little tiresome sometimes with all of the blatant pimping that goes on.

I like what many of the industry guys have done on the forum, like Scotty from Greenline for example, where it is clear where his industry ties are.

For the record I personally support Dale Chapman (DC) and what he is trying to do for the sport of SUP. We do a lot of R&D together (both at his factory and in the water). I pay full price for everything and am just stoked to be able to play a small part of the development process. There are many other great teams doing their own R&D (especially here on the Gold Coast) and it is great to see how everyone is pushing each other along. The evolution of the high performance wave boards and the Long Distance boards has been particularly dramatic and its great to see.

It's great to see that the majority of breezers are positively contributing to the evolution of the sport. Lets keep it positive.

Far out who cares. Im going back to short boards to complain about the lack of swell

Pimp me up , I like the Naish & PSH pimp, but I'm missing the Starboard , Jimmy Lewis ,Gerry Lopez , Ron House ,Surftech , GSI , Southpoint , Coreban ect ect ect Pimp , how else are we going to find out about the new boards ? and what about our Local boy Dale Chapman.....?

Didn't the Stand Up Zone go through the same thing last year where they had the same debate and ended up everyone putting their associations with suppliers etc on their avatar or what ever? Whilst it ended up happening, I think the Stand Up Zone has become a little ho - hum since then as it was the start of alot of posters leaving and moving on.
Just to satisfy my curiosity, I understand it upsets some people but what I don't get is why does it upset you?

Boys as one of the newbies I have to say that it was great to get advice from everyone - pimp or not.

Clearly there are some with def opinions but hey ...

There was one clear message from everyone - demo, try,demo and accept the fact that board no 1 may be either a short or long term love affair!

Starboards, Naish and a couple more are all great intro boards - McT 10's are a bit like going from a 125cc to 650 - doable with a few spills.

I revert to previous advice - listen, look and demo

wow seems like a good time for this post I dont work in the industry in fact work with dis-abled kids and adults. Have had my sup 8 months trying it in eevery type of surf before saying anything on this forum.
I have a surfshapes outlaw model supposedly custom shaped, thing sucks.
I can surf and have for over 40 years, just chose the wrong shaper and listened to the wrong people. My fault but want others to be aware.
