It took 8 weeks to get my gun so I had plenty of time to think about the deck grip design.

I have gone for a Polynesian style this time .The turtle represents speed and strength in the water , the jellyfish is the turtles favorite food , the energy of turlte is focused around the paddle head and fins on my board.

This one took a bit over 20 hours but was well worth it as this board deserved something special.

Rob

sed around the paddle head and fins on my board.

thats the coolest grip eva, even if it does look like the jelly fish on the left just pooped out a little jelly fish...
... if the jelly fish on the left did just poop out a little jelly fish on purpose, that makes it even cooler

That's right... jelly fish babies represents the jelly fish reproducing so the turtle doesn't run out of food on our long journeys together.

Thanks everyone , with a bit of planning and imagination anyone can do it.

It would be great if deck grips were standard like this.

Do you buy the little bits cut up already or is this all from a whole deck grip?

It's all done from sheets and scraps , I generally cut 40mm strips and then cut the triangles , for tighter areas I split the triangles again , the turtle was cut from a 500 x 500 sheet , the pieces around the paddle are the off cuts from the turtle , I waste very little material , believe it or not this is the cheapest way to do a grip , but I did go through $50 worth of stanley knives on this one.

Unreal design Piros. And it looks to me like a giant mudcrab on the tail is chasing the turtle up the deck. But then I always failed those ink blob tests at the psychiatrist's.

Fantastic! Considering I don't have a creative bone in my body I'd never be able to come up with something like that.

Thanks again everyone .The turtle was the only thing that I traced from a drawing the rest of the board was chew and see. The paddle is the actual outline of my Quick blade.

This whole deck grip was from left overs it's my 6th mozaic design so I have had a bit of practice now , the sky is the limit with these designs the only thing that can hold you back is your imagination.

I'm sure it won't be long before someone tops this.
