Hey Dave, there was a Sport Class as well as while you're riding along side the race boards you are only competing against similarly designed boards.

i noticed that but I was just a spectator for the day getting a feel for the event and I had been quite ill the week before and my balance was really off yesterday. I still would have had the shortest board the others were all 10'6 with light ladies on them, struck them in Sorrento on Sunday's paddle and they glided past me then too, my excuse is I was recovering from illness, lol.
I will have a go next year for sure as it was a really casual event which I liked and everyone seemed really friendly.

looking at a Naish Glide actually but can't find one to demo yet and I need to pay for my Japan trip at the moment but it is on the list.

So what did you end up with, is there a touring board at 30 wide besides the Glide?

The 14 x 29" DC/NSP is another very well-mannered board you might like to have a look at Dave.

I have a Glde demo lined up for later this year once I get back from Japan and pay off that trip, I am leaning toward a GTW to match my GTW Mana.
