I had one and was wearing it every day for the past 5 or 6 months, then the hologram started folding and reacting with the glue causing it to swell the clear silicone panel. The clear silicone panel went opaque due to the swelling, I bursted it with my teeth and got a mouthful of glue, and decided to disacarded it. Since not wearing it I haven't noticed that my balance is any worse now, but I still think I'll get a replacement - however, I may wait till they come down in price. I'm a bit of a sucker for the magic bracelets.

I don't follow trends, I'd get another one because I think they do add something.

Sorry guys, i did not think it had been done, i seen a vid on it and pissed my self laughing.

The guy reached around as far as he could with one arm in front of him ok...

Then stuck the band on then done the same reach again.. wow he said i can reach a lot further.

Do you not think thats because you just stretched the shoulder on the first go and the second try was able to reach further

Come on, I mean if i stick it on my old fella will i piss straight

Yeah, I know BP - I hear you. Personally I think it does have some sort of effect. But I like wearing it and defending it partly 'cause it get's some squares, non wearers and non believers so fired up.

Hey BP, I know you like researching buying new boards/paddles/underpants... have you ever tried punching your question into a search on seabreeze? This topic has been done to death - you should find a wealth of information.

To sum up there are believers and non believers. Strange world huh?

Sorry for not letting the topic die. For what it's worth I've worn one for the last 2 months, not so much for balance but for the chronic pain in my knee from years of abuse - also had huge problems with my ITB and other muscles. About a day after I started wearing it the pain started to reduce and now - basically non-existant. Havent changed anything either, still the same running / weights / etc.. just substantially less pain. As for balance........ well I'm not sold on my balance but - my youngest boy has co-ordination problems and still cant ride a pushbike in a straight line and always falls off every 30 metres, all of which he should be doing at his age. If we hide the band in his pocket he rides in a straight line, balancing normally. The guy at the bike shop was amazed last week when my son did it in front of him.

From my perspective if $60 was only a psychological end to my knee pain I'd pay it again in a heartbeat. As far as my son goes - I'd pay 1000000 times that if it helped him.

Might buy one and hide it in the wifes car if this is the case.

I hope she doesn't read this or it could turn nasty. Just in case I'd better hide my precision screwdriver set because she can't read either!!

Tell the truth she is is a very good driver and has a good sense of humour. I think

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki has said more than once on triple J that these things are a complete hoax. Donate the $60 to a worthy charity instead.

I have one that was bought for me as a gift.. Out of politeness i slipped it on and said it was awesome.. Then as soon as the gift giver left i threw it in a drawer.. I think it has been long enough now to get rid of it.. so the auction starts here at $2 to cover postage.. its a large size and black in colour.. best bid wins or looses.. however you look at it

I can't believe people put so much energy into something they don't believe

If only that power were used for good?

I wear my Band, and believe it makes a difference. If you don't, then don't buy one! pretty simple really. Then move onto something constructive rather than wasting peoples time reading your response on the odd thought you have something of interest to say.

I must admit, I am surprised at the screwdriver set, made me check mine straight away

^ I can't believe people put so much money into something that does nothing.

It's difficult to silently sit back and watch people advocate snake oil. That's why I get suckered into responding to threads like this.
