i am looking at buying a prone paddleboard for a bit of cross training and downwinding, wondering if anyone knows where there might be some for sale or someone selling one, not looking for something brand new just something reasonably priced that floats

Hi Jarryd, I purchased a 12ft stock paddleboard from geartrade a few years back, they are rare on there, but I posted a message in the "wanted" section and got a few responses almost immediately. Sold it a few years later on the same website and still regret the sale. Would love to get another ('eleu 12ft) as it was hard work but big fun. Other than that, hook up with some paddlers that paddle prone distance - there used to be a reasonable crew on the Northern Beaches. They might be able to find a second hand board somewhere. Sorry I can't suggest anyone, I sold my board (and OC1 and soul) to buy a few SUP's many years back.
Another option is to take a little holiday to California and bring one back with you. There were lots for sale there and heaps cheaper. A great souvenir if ever there was one.

G'day Jarryd outside 10'6'' clubbie boards, there is ONLY ONE PADDLEBOARD to paddle and thats a board hand-shaped by The Man, The Myth, The Legend and that is top bloke Mr Adrian Birse. Adrian has a very good eye for detail when it comes to shaping the 12ft or 18ft Prone Paddleboards. IF the 12ft or 18ft Prone Paddleboard isn't shaped by Mr Adrian Birse then there really not worth paddling IF you want performance. I've had a few of Mr Adrian Birse's 18ft paddleboards from 2003 before I defected to paddling Unlimited SIC SUP in 2007.
I total agree with you Jarryd about the cross training part I paddle my Unlimited SIC SUP when the wind is from the SE. But when the wind is from the NE I love paddling my 10.6'' Kracka Lifeguard board, conditions was pumping today with a good strong NNE wind I jump in at Broadbeach and got some fun runners and glided on the knees all the way to Burleigh Heads BULK FUN.
