Would appreciate your input into what Protein Powder you use or can recommend.
Too many choices out there with too many additives and sugar.

Specifically what brand and a good place to buy from in SE Qld or online.

Thanks.

Yeah, we ordered some specifically because it didn't have flavouring, can't stand the flavoured crap. Turns out they lied and they do use flavouring, arse flavouring. This is the most rancid crap I've ever put in my mouth, Lise tried it first, had a gobful and yacked straight into the sink.
I thought she must've been exaggerating and tried it and nearly yacked too and this was in a fresh mango and mint smoothie.
Truly rancid stuff.

Cheap though

I ended up using these guys for my last lot. www.proteinauthority.com.au/

This stuff is pretty hard to beat.....great service from this crew too.

www.aminoz.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=+vital+strength+whey+protein+isolate+p+2585+

87% protein content!!.....way higher than most.
A lot of others are loaded with crap to bulk it up and can have a pretty high fat content.....these are usually cheaper.
Taste of the choc one is not bad and disolves really well in water.

Hey JT, using a protein powder is a very important part of your training program, stay away from pre workout products as they are just a stimulant, recovery is as important as the effort you put in at training. Protein should be taken within 20mins of the session to get the best results and by fueling your muscles correctly the recovery process should allow you to preform better at your next session.
The market is pretty saturated with different protein powders and its important to avoid any that use sugar or artificial sweeteners, I use a product made locally on the Gold Coast and in my opinion is the best on the market, it's made by punish fight gear who are renouned for making world class fight gear and their nutritional products are of the same standard, a lot of our squad and my surf club squad use the products and all with very positive feedback. Check out this website and mention my name they'll give you 20% discount

I use the chocolate, Trevor also has the chocolate up there you could try

I looked into protein powders not long ago and after a talk with the cute nutritionist at work I settled on this.

Protein plus lots of other good stuff.. I use the vanilla flavor and add a spoon of Milo to make it taste yummie..

I find that protein powder aids my recovery and i don't get sore muscles after long sessions paddling, i recommend you use water with it rather than milk even though milk tastes better unless you really want to bulk up and IMHO you don't need as much powder as they recommend, i use about half a scoop, its a bit like washing machine powder, they always recommend you use way too much as they sell more product that way.

+1 for the Horleys...good blend of stuff and IMO actually tastes pretty good in water, esp the Lemonade flavour recovery supplement. I get it online from Vitamin King.

Im a tight ass and buy it direct from nutrition suppliers without all the flavours and stuff. In bulk its as cheap as between 20-30 bucks per kg. min buy is 5kg. just split it with someone (they normally come in 1kg packs).

Mix it with a bit of milo and coffee.....away you go!!

They all have pro's and con's you just need to find one that works best for you. The timing of when you have it is crucial as well. My fav's are a blended mix (isolate and concentrate) from ON or scivation, they both mix well without a blender and a casein protein for night time if you can afford it (takes longer period of time to digest). Feta works well too
