If you are looking for a quad setup for its speed, I would recommend a Quobba thruster set in L size (aka the "plus" yellow/green ones).
The quobba will give you more speed than any set of normal fins. You wont go back.

The only exception may be for rear foot grip at low speed on wide tailed small wave boards (which the JP surf is not), where the traction of the high area of quad rears cannot be found in a thruster setup.

well im not really getting any where - i have a few Quad set ups - but not really sure i have found the magic formula

I found some GL FCS 1 Quads - they seem pretty flexy, but the rear to me looks huge

I also have some FCS1 PC7s - the rears are smaller (FCS GX-Q) but they feel a little bit "dead" to me..or at least in smaller waves so far (Waist to chest)

Maybe i will experiment with the GL FCS1 fronts + FCS PC7 rears?

PScomparing boards with a mate - i did see that the side bite boxes of the JP (Surf pro 8'10) were pretty close to the central thruster box..so maybe i should go back to thruster (2+1) but play with putting the central fin further back - currently with the central fin in the middle of the box, then the leading edge is pretty much aligned with the trailing edge of the 2 side bites....so i wonder if moving it back would make it less "pivoty"

I forgot to add that for grip at low speed, while not stiffening up at speed, nothing beats the C-Drives.

But good that you mentioned that nothing beats the C-Drives with grip in low speeds.
