Got a cheap carbon paddle and the paddle has come off the shaft after hitting the bottom. Paddle fits back on nicely OVER shaft which is rebated into paddle for about 25mm.
will super glue do the trick??

I'd be thinking more along the lines of epoxy resin. But wait for someone else to respond.
Can you post some pics? Also, what brand, so we stay clear ... ???

Araldite super strength should do the job. And to be double sure no salt water gets into the joint, wrap the join with self amalgamating tape.

make sure what ever "epoxy" or glue is used, that it is compatable with the materials used in the paddle. Also I would advise giving both surfaces a light sand and thougher clean before glue up. Do a dry fit and make sure you have blade and handle aligment in mind. Regarding waterproofing, although correct gluing should sufice, sikaflex can be used to seal, use marine grade.

Just use Araldite $12 from Bunning

Froggo, Araldite is Epoxy in case you were wondering. So the general consensus is epoxy / araldite, and definitely hit it up with sandpaper to help the two bonding surfaces.
Don't be too skimpy, and any excess on the shaft can be wiped off before it dries.

Thanks heaps for the replies.
Oops - I wanted to paddle early this morning so used super glue instead of araldite.
Seemed to hold up ok

Good to know super-glue works. If it fails, you have another option !
