Hi,
Just wanted to know how many people are using the 4th phase of the paddle stroke to it's maximum potential?
I noticed a lot of paddle boarders exiting the water and keeping a full faced blade on the recovery phase. This effectively means heaps more work and possibly the difference between catching the lead guy in a race or not?? I try to drop my top hand so the paddle turns to its side to cut back through and slice the air, a little bit like rowers when they turn their paddles on their recovery stroke.
What other techniques are you guys using?
I hope this helps?!

You can either drop your top hand or you can roll your wrist.. I do a bit of both.
When paddling fast to catch runners that recovery part of the stroke is critical to get right.
