Check it out, ^^^ no more red thumbs.

Not sure if I like, dislike or don't care.

It does make one wonder what the point of only rating stuff positively is but I suppose it works for facebook.

Might bring the stalkers out of the closest.

Poor BP, no more red thumb love for him....

Note that they are STILL available in other Seabreeze forums-must be that SUPers are particularly sensitive types.....

In my opinion the red thumbs just prevented people soft or otherwise posting honest opinions. The opinions may have been wrong but they are allowed free speach we all are.

Now if someone disagrees they either shut and keep their commment to them selves, or add some constructive input to enlighten the rest of the forum users as to why they think that way. How is that a bad thing, we might all learn something?

I have also seen some of the posters that swore they would never come back to the forum in the mix as well since the thumbs have gone.

If removing the thumbs in the SUP Forum makes people that post here soft, then maybe the super bad ass Keyboard Worrier Tough Guy Heros should find a more appropriate place to go. Where they can hide behind the red thumbs rather than make a comment.

In my experience from going to events and demo days, the full on opinionated Keyboard Worriers hardly even make a peep in person after rabbiting on for pages on the web. Its also entertaining to see that often after providing hard hitting expertise they can hardly stand on a board in 6 inch chop let alone surf it in 2 - 3 foot clean surf.

Piss all the thumbs off and it would probbaly be better again

Phill.

PS: oh god maybe I will be unpopular now, I think I will find a tissue or two.

Forum, or do you mean sub-forum.......plenty of forums, well all of the others that im on, multiple 4x4, chainsaw, welding, woodwork, etc etc...dont have thumbs or the gay voting, clicky crap....some have even got rid of post counts as that attracted some just to click over the numbers....to me the thumbs just create groups of cheerleading, either way for or against....and ontop of that the inconsistancy of the moderation does not help at all

Yep fair call but if you are going to do it in one sub section wouldnt it make sence that its done for all of them?
TBH I dont use them unless its in the general section and I have no probs in giving my opinion.
I usually come here to look at board constuction because you guys tend to experiment a bit, but there has been little of that in here of late.

Hey Doggie,

I have always posted my opinions thumbs or no thumbs, and if challenged on those thoughs in person at events etc listened to the other persons point of view as we all see things in different ways and from different perspectives. No right No wrong just different.

I have always said i think the thumbs red and green are stupid! I am involved in photographic, sport fishing, industrial review, photographic modeling, diving forums etc and none of them have them as they want open healthy discussion on their sites.

If people in the other SB forums want a way to slag off competative brands and team riders etc and hide with out having to put a proposed alternate point of view that can be openly discussed and debated forward and without having to put thier name to it and they feel good about it then why not then keep the thumbs in the other forums.

Since the thumbs have been gone from the SUP Forum there has been far better debate and thats great for the SUP forum.

It seems to have cut a lot of the infighting CRAP and thats why I believe they were removed.

I didnt think you particularly would have a problem with red thumbs being gone your not a shrinking violet by any means and normaly post your own strong views.

Hands Doggie a packed of Telfast for the drippy nose.

My 2 cents.

Technically 2 cents is no longer legal tender, in which case you would round down to 0.00 - but thanks anyway.

Well Ive had heaps of red thumbs over time and even people rip into me publicly & through a PM. At the end of the day this is a public free forum with it's own rules. Red thumbs mean nothing and if ya get hung up on that crap well what are you doing here anyway?

thumbs haven't gone, just the red ones, which you seemed to have accumulated the most frequently.

so the sycophantic amongst the sup forum regulars, still get to rub the metophoric jizz of their fat, incapacitated, ability challenged piers into their own faces most laboriously, and harp apon the banal sup nirvana of the well over stated abilities of friends, hangers on and off spring, all the while pimping the dubiously glorious virtues of equipment formulated upon market share and profit.

while those with an ability to see through the back slap, ego inflated ruse are required to dexterily formulate an oppossing veiwpoint, foregoing their prerogative of a generated thumb opinionate...?

bring back the red thumb
