l came to the unfortunate realization,l just wasn't able to get to the beach as much as l would like so reluctantly decided to get my water fix by Kayaking on the Yarra, but since l didn't have a kayak took my SUP board out,and have not looked back..Only drawback is l don't think epoxy boards like scraping rocks ,let alone the fin(without the fin it it doesn't track straight)Curious if any others paddling their local river and if so,is there an ideal board for river use?

HI Jazbelle,

I know the Coreban guys are developing an inflatable river SUP that is designed to withstand the rocks etc. They should be available next year. I paddled one the other day and they are going to be great on the river.

Here are some pic's of a trip a mate of mine did on one of his local rivers in South Africa

Just like oliver says some of the inflatables are virtually indestructable, mine is made by the red paddle company and is superb quality,i think they also sell
in Australia. Also these boards have flexible fins which is a bonus in the shallows.
